Intro
On 6/17/2023, I will start a challenge where I only use fediverse software. This will mean not using Discord, Reddit, YouTube, among other services. This will be in effect for at least 1 month.
Why?
I would like to promote the use of decentralized software, along with observing if the fediverse is something ready for the general public. I don’t like the idea of corporations being in charge of every user’s data.
What Software Will You Use?
Here’s a list of apps along with their fediverse equivalents.
Discord - Matrix
Reddit - Kbin or Lemmy (Kbin and Lemmy can talk to each other)
YouTube - PeerTube
Instagram - Pixelfed
Twitter - Mastodon
Exceptions
I will still be using Google Voice and Steam.
